One of the most amazing things is the human body. There are hundreds of interesting facts about it. I was curious about some that may not be as well known, so I decided to find some of the more interesting facts about the human body to share with you.

Here are 10 interesting facts about the human body

Your stomach blushes when you do.

We all know that when we get embarrassed, our face gets flushed. But did you know that the lining of your stomach turns red as well? So when your cheeks flush, so does your stomach.

Humans have faint bioluminescence.

Fish and other sea life that live in the extreme deep have bioluminescence, that is how they navigate the deepest waters. Humans have faint bioluminescence as well. Though you cannot see it with the naked eye, all humans emit a very faint light.

There are a lot of blood vessels in the body.

The inside of our bodies has many different organs and blood vessels, some of which are quite long. If you stretched out all the blood vessels in an average adult body, they would be close to 100,000 miles long.

The human foot contains 26 bones.

An adult has 206 bones in their body, so close to one-quarter of all your bones are in your feet.

There are air bubbles in your joints.

We get used to the various cracking and popping that pour joints make especially as we get older. The reason for this is because there is some fluid in your joints. The popping or cracking noise that your joints sometimes make is from the air bubbles popping.

The cornea has no blood supply.

There are no blood vessels in the cornea of your eyes. It absorbs oxygen directly from the air, so there is no need for blood to bring in oxygen.

Your eyes don’t grow when you do.

Even though your ears and nose continue to grow throughout your life, your eyes remain the same size from birth.

Eight percent of your body weight is blood.

That means that if you weigh 100 pounds, 8 of that is blood. If you weigh 200 pounds, 16 of that is blood.

Your skin is the largest organ.

Our bodies are made up of many different organs, but the largest organ is outside our bodies. Your skin is actually the largest organ of the body.

Your tongue has a print.

It’s not just your fingerprints that are unique, your tongue has its own unique print that can be used in identification.

So there you have it a list of some of the more interesting facts about the human body I could find. There are hundreds of other facts that are just as cool, but these are some that I found more interesting.
