Halloween has always been one of my favorite times of the year. I love the change in the seasons, the decorations, and of course, Family Halloween Movies.

I like a good Horror movie, but my favorites are ones that I can sit and enjoy with the kids at any time of the year.

One of the things that I have been trying to do is to introduce them to some of the more classic family or kids Halloween movies.

So I decided to pick out some of my favorite Halloween movies from when I was a kid.

Here is a list of my 5 Favorite Family Halloween Movies:

The Nightmare Before Christmas: 1993

This is hands down my favorite Halloween movie to watch with the kids. It is entertaining for all of us, plus I love a good Tim Burton movie at any time of year.

The movie, in a nutshell, is about the Pumpkin King and his efforts to keep Christmas from happening. We watch this anytime from Halloween to Christmas and the kids love it each time.

Hocus Pocus: 1993

Here is a close second in terms of favorites. Its an oldie but a goody as far as I am concerned.

The movie follows the adventures of a young man who finds out that the local stories about Witches are all too real.

I haven’t introduced the kids to this one yet, because they are just now getting away from the all cartoon movie stage. But I am sure they will like it as much as I do.

Addams Family: 1991

This is a remake of the T.V. show that aired in the 1960s. I liked the T.V. show, but I love this movie so much more (Wednesday is my favorite character ever).

The movie has an awesome cast and introduced the iconic Family to a new generation. It follows the antics of con artists that try to trick the Family by masquerading as a long-lost brother.

If you like this then also check out Addams Family Values. It’s just as entertaining as the first one.

Casper: 1995

The character Casper the friendly ghost has been around since the 1930s. Since it has been around so long there have been many different tellings, but this is hands down my favorite.

In this movie, Casper has to deal with some unfinished business and enlists the help of the new family living in his home. The story follows their adventures and shows some really cool hidden aspects of the house.

Witches: 1990

Yet another favorite for families to watch together. Witches are a Halloween staple and this film does not disappoint. It can be a little scary for younger kids, but older ones should enjoy it.

The story is about a young boy who discovers that there is a Witches convention in the hotel that he is staying in. He uncovers their plot to turn children into mice and has a bit of an adventure trying to stop them.

I hope you enjoyed this list of my favorite family Halloween movies from the 1990s.
