Save Money on Monthly Bills
We all have bills that we have each month that cost quite a bit. This is one place that you can try to cut down on costs. By looking around at the different options you can find more ways to save money each month.
Cable Bill
One of the highest bills that most of us have each month is the Cable bill. Sure being able to choose from hundreds of channels is great, but how many times have you searched for something only to never find anything? This is something that most of us do and it is such a time suck.
Most of us have some sort of streaming service now anyway, and if you don’t then why not?
Services like Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime offer hundreds of shows and movies at a much lower cost than cable. And when you combine them with free or low-cost cable alternatives there is really nothing that you are missing out on.
The best alternative is a good old antenna. These are nothing like the big bulky things of my youth and are fairly easy to find and set up. What’s cool about antennas is that they find the local channels in the area and stream them straight to your tv.
Another way to go is to get a free or low-cost alternative to cable. One that is free is Pluto TV. This streaming app has hundreds of movies and shows that are completely free to watch, all you have to do is sign up and you are ready to watch.
Other low-cost cable alternatives are Philo and Sling TV. These require a membership or email sign-up and have packages that start around $20 a month.
With these, you can watch many of the cable channels that are your favorites. Whichever way you decide to go just make sure that you are picking services that have what you want to watch.
Phone Bill
Another bill that you can save money each month is your cell phone bill.
We all use our phones for just about everything today. We surf the web, check social media and watch cute animal videos all day long. Why not save a little in this too?
While you can get service each month from the big names in the biz like Verizon, Sprint and US Cellular. There are many prepaid providers out there that offer the same, if not better data deals each month.
The basis of the pre-paid option is that you buy the phone outright and pay a lesser monthly charge than having a monthly bill. Some of these also have the option to pay for a full year, 3-months or 6-months at a time.
Services like Straight talk, Simple Mobile and Total wireless also offer the option to pay over-time for the phone instead of all at once. Which can make it so much easier to switch from one of the bigger services.
Just remember as with anything you need to choose which carrier works best not just for you, but in your area as well. Some providers work better in some areas than in others. So make sure to do your research before you buy anything.
Car Insurance
This is a bill that we all have each month. If you are like me, you have had the same car insurance company for at least a few years and have stayed with them out of habit.
The key to this bill is to shop around, and you can definitely save money each month. If you look at the rates of different companies in your area you will see that there are other alternatives that might cost less.
When you do start to look at other car insurance companies make sure that the policy options suit your needs so that you continue to have the coverage that you need.
